Payroll

What payroll needs

Payroll needs an approved total, the list of what is still open, and the true-up you will take next cycle. A late Salesforce extract does not get fixed by editing last month’s statement. The missing deal is a line on the next run. The approval order on a small team is the finance owner, then the managers, then the reps, then payroll. CompDay does not run payroll. The page ends at the file you hand over.

The order

  1. Finance has a number and a list of open items.
  2. Managers confirm credit, including accounts nobody owns. They do not re-decide the rate.
  3. Reps see the statement and reply on a line, not on a pasted screenshot.
  4. Payroll receives the approved total. Anything still open is named, with the cycle that will carry the correction.

Month three of the quarter

On a monthly pay cycle with a quarterly quota, the first two months can ship with a few deals still open. The last month of the quarter is the one that unlocks accelerators and team bonuses. That is the run that has to be complete. A miss there is why payroll is chasing the file.

True-up next cycle

The correction on the next payroll cycle when the extract was late or a deal changed after you paid. It is a new line on the next statement, not a silent edit to last month’s total.

Clawback after payroll

A refund does not edit last month’s statement. It is a new negative line that names the original payout, the rep, and the period payroll already closed. A draw works the same way: recovery is its own line, not a quiet change to the old total.

What this page does not do

It does not export a payroll file, name a payroll vendor, or promise a same-day connector. You still send the approved number.
